Pre-construction meeting

Today we had our pre-construction meeting with Aaron, the man who will actually be personally planning and supervising the construction of our home. We sat down with him in one of the model homes in our neighborhood and he walked us through (in fascinating but sometimes mind-numbing detail) the placement of our house on the lot, utility locations, easement and right-of-way zones on the property, and what would happen in the first phases of construction
There’s no turning back now

Today we signed off on the final plans, option list, material selections, electrical layout, and — of course — the price. And I wrote the single biggest check I’ve ever signed to date.

Hi everyone! We’re first time homeowners building a house in Noblesville, IN and we setup this blog for friends, family, and anyone else curious about the process. We hope to post pictures, walk-through videos, and our thoughts and challenges throughout the 4 to 5 months the build is expected to take.
