Week 9: Second floor going up
Entering the 9th week of construction, I stopped by the house today after work and the framers were still at it late into the day. The second floor walls are up; no roof yet. No pictures today either; this whole set-the-clocks-back-an-hour thing means that even if I escape work soon enough to get to the site by 6:00, it’s nearly dark! I’ll have to only take pictures on the weekends I think.
Hansen and Horn has heard our concerns about the progress on the house and all the troubles behind the scenes; they’ve been fairly responsive and we’re happy to see things progressing. There’s still some challenges to deal with, it sounds like, but we’re going to give everyone a chance to work it out. These delays are not typical and have arisen this year because of a number of conspiring circumstances. I know not everyone that’s been commenting on here can afford to be as patient as we’re trying to be, but please keep any comments civil.

Kandy,
please, if you want to be sure that you get that $8,000, wouldn’t it be wise to buy a house from someone else? If for some reason HH were not able to get your home built, and there are a whole lot of reasons why that could happen, do you really think they are going to give you $8,000? Have you read (http://indianapolishomebuildercomplaints.com/duke-realty-and-anson/)
what’s going on with them? Don’t you think that if those things were not true that HH would have his rear in court by now? Why do think that site is still up and going strong?
Do you really feel comfortable that these guys are going to be around to honor the 4 year warranty? Just somethingtothinkabout is all.

We signed a contract with Hansen and Horn in early August and I have nothing to show for it, except missing earnest money. Today I sat in the H&H office for over 6 hours waiting to speak to Steve Horn about our project. Even though many employees told him I was there and only wanted 5 minutes of his time he never even acknowledged me. Finally at 5:30 pm he sent Mike ? out to tell me I had to leave the premises. Is this appropriate customer service?
