Week 13: Fixtures, exterior

Since the middle of the week, more siding has been added (and a bit more had to be ordered), the yard has gotten a rough grade, a bit of exterior trim painting has been done, and the light fixtures are all in place.

The chandeliers in the main foyer, dining room, and breakfast area are cool, and we love the pendants over the kitchen island too. The closets got a little attention in the last couple days as well, with most of the wire shelving hung.

What we didn’t get to see this weekend was hardwood flooring — it was supposed to start on Friday, but Sean called me yesterday and let me know that the flooring supplier told him our floors got “lost” in transit. How one loses almost 12o0 square feet of hardwood flooring is a mystery to both us and Sean, but another batch is on the way and the overall schedule shouldn’t be affected.

So flooring of both the wood and carpet variety should be going in this week, and I believe the public walk and driveway will be poured as well. With our official walk-through/orientation on March 31, there’s only a week and a half of construction left!

I love the siding. The two different “textures”, along with the color and the little bit of brick, are so eye appealing. I love the lights above the kitchen island too. Its all so gorgeous. I can’t wait to see it in person.

Mandy and Matt – it’s looking beautiful! So glad you hung in and “built” rather than “bought”…

Happened across this blog last week. I took a few minutes to look back on the progress and now I find myself living vicariously through you on your way to completion.

The place looks great and I like the unique layout. I’m with you on the decision not to have a formal living room. No one uses them anymore.

I’m excited to see which backsplach wins out. I’m pulling for the diagonals.

    Hi Guys:
What awesome progress. The home looks beautiful. Within no time you should have it filled-up with “little rogers” :)

    Love,

Hey guys, everything looks awesome so far. You two certainly deserve it with all the hard work you guys have put into this whole process. Bethany is drooling over that custom kitchen of yours. Hopefully there will be no more set backs, and you’ll be in your new home soon.
